2010 Lancer Tournament Rules
- Rosters: Each team can have a maximum of 12 players. Grade level determined by current grade this school year. Players may participate on only one team in the tournament. Rosters, Compliance and Release forms must be filled out and signed by Coaches and Parents / Guardians before any team or team member can participate.
- Uniforms: Each team should have either reversible jerseys with numbers on both sides or two sets of jerseys in case of color conflict. White T-Shirts or matching T-shirts may be worn under game jerseys.
- Home Team: The Home Team will always be listed first. Home Team should sit on the bench to the right of the Scorer's table as you face the floor.
- Warm-ups: Teams will have a minimum of 5 minutes to warm-up before the game. Half-times will be 3 minutes. Please warm-up on the basket furthest from your bench.
- Clock: Games will consist of two 14 min. halves stopping according to KSHAA rules. Clock will continue to run if a team is up by 20 points in the second half, except for time-outs or injury.
- Pressing: No pressing over half-court by a team having a 20 point lead.
- Time outs: Each team will have 2 one minute time-outs per half. No carry-over.
- Overtime: will consist of a maximum of two, three minute overtimes. If teams are still tied after 2nd overtime, sudden death will apply. Jump ball will occur and the first team to score wins. Each team will get one time-out for each overtime period.
- Coaching: Two coaches are allowed on the bench. The Coaching Box will be used (Head Coach only). If either coach is called for a Technical Foul, the privilege of the Box is lost for the remainder of the game.
- Technical Fouls: Result in two foul shots and loss of possession. Technical's will be counted as personal fouls. Two Technical Fouls by a Player or a Coach will result in disqualification from that game and suspension from the next game. Any Coach or Player that is disqualified, must leave the gym and may not sit on the bench in the following game.
- Seeding: Seeds for purposes of advancement in the tournament will be determined by the following:
1) Best overall record
2) If two teams are tied then by head to head competition of these teams
a) if the two teams did not play head to head, then fewest points allowed
b) if still tied, then a coin flip will determine the winner.
3) If three teams are tied then each of these 3 teams will be determined by:
a) fewest points allowed
b) if two teams remain tied after (a) the fewest points allowed, then back to head to head competition.
c) if those two teams did not play, then a coin flip will determine the winner
- Forfeits: Will be called if a team is not ready to play 5 minutes after the scheduled game time. If a team wins by forfeit, the average points allowed for actual games played by the team forfeited to, will determine the advancement in the tournament. Tournament officials may waive this rule under extraordinary circumstances.
- Game Balls: All boys/girls 4th -6th grade teams will use an intermediate size (285) ball. A regulation size ball will be used by 7th and 8th grade boys/girls. Practice balls will not be provided.
